Dear Fellow Travellers

We are so sorry but we have now closed.
Thanks to all our guests for your valued custom.

Welcome to our very own, cosy, Traditional Welsh Cottage!

We wanted to share this beautiful corner of The Welsh Valleys and provide you a little respite from this crazy old world…

By drawing on our many years of experience with getaways - both good & not so good - hopefully we’ve thought of almost everything…

(Although if you feel like 5* champagne spa luxury, then sorry, we’re strictly old fashioned, peace & quiet… No hot tub parties here!)

But if you do fancy a little nostalgia, then you are more than welcome to come and stay in this, our little, “home from home”.

We bought the cottage in July 2022 and it’s taken almost a year to restore it’s vintage heart, back to where it belongs. So please bear this in mind when you go looking for the, 55” Smart TV, to watch the rugby on - cos you won’t find one - tho’ in, The Sitting Room, there is a little “19” HD, which has the 5 main UK channels, plus a few more… and Free Home Broadband WiFi (4G) is available,

More details of the cottage layout etc can be found on the next page - “Y BWTHYN BACH“ and photos of all the rooms and details, are available on the PHOTO GALLERY Page.

The quaint little hamlet of Quaker’s Yard, is at the bottom of a very steep path - known locally as, “The Gutty”, that runs from the lane where the cottage is, down to the village, (and back up again, don’t forget…!!) - The village boasts an excellent store, a Chinese Takeaway, a hairdressers and two pubs… “
The Quaker’s Yard Inn”, a popular drinking spot with the locals, with darts etc and, “The Glantaff Inn”, who provide good quality food and lodgings.

More info on eateries can be found on our THINGS TO DO Page…

We live locally - 10 minutes away - so if our guests have any questions, or issues, Pauly’s available on her mobile between 8am > 8pm - 7 days a week. (Number in the footnote)

If there’s no answer, it’s best to leave a short text, as we see them almost straight away… voicemail messages generally get picked up at the end of the day.

All the links you’ll need in a medical emergency are on our HEALTH & SAFETY Page

(Link above in menu)

BOOKING LINKS & RATES PAGE has a direct messaging facility.

We don’t keep a calendar on this site, it’s for information only (I’m working on it…) but if you call my mobile and leave a short message, with your name, number and the dates you require, I will call you back asap… or you can message us by text, email, or on our CONTACT US Page

This is our first venture at hosting - and it’s quite scary - so please bear with us and PLEASE give as much feedback as you can… it’ll help us no end…

Thank you for this…

And finally, we were thrilled to see that Jo Ridout, from Walesonline, featured us on her column!
Take a look!! ☺️👌❤️

Can’t wait to meet all you lovely lot… but until then, please take care of each other and remember to be kind…

Pauly & Dai xx
